S60 Ticker 0.1 Beta for S60 3rd Edition

I’ve just found a quite cool and innovative application; soft is still in early beta version and should bring lot of improvements in the future.

After the closed beta testing period application is now officially available for the public beta-testing phase.

S60Ticker is an extendable application that displays info in a ticker style on the Active standby or any other screen if desired.

As a first demo-application an SMSTicker is included which will fire up on receiving a new SMS and switch backlight on (configurable) and ticker the whole content over the screen (for a configurable period of time).

Soft is tested on E61 and E90 only for now, but should work without any problem on any other 3rd edition devices, I’ve just test it on N95 and it forks fine.

Last but not the least, I found it over at Symbian60.mobi that contains detailed install instruction, hints etc. Site is in German only unfortunately but automatic translation through google will be helpful and it is even available on the side bar directly.

For those that aren’t familiar with the crappy automated translations here is the short installation info and if you get any problem feel free to reach me over at our forum section.

There are two necessary files application and application server. Of course you should install S60TickerServer_S60_3_X_v_0_1_1.sisx first and then proceed with S60Ticker_S60_3_X_v_0_1_1.sisx.

If you are understand German, you can get a pretty large manual here but if it is not the case you use this link to read the auto translated manual.
