..help..

+ New firmware for N95 classic is online, finally.. . .

26 November 2007

The long awaited firmware update for N95 classic
has been released (MCU SW v20.0.015)

Nokia has released a new firmware version for Nokia N95 classic, firmware v20.0.015 is already available and supported via the NSU and will be available progressively at the official Nokia Points and Nokia Service Points in the next few days.

This release should improve the Nokia N95 performance as well as fix known bugs and problems from previous versions.

As we have already reported few days ago, the firmware itself looks very promising and brings lot of improvements, improvements like the implementation of the Demand Paging, Active screen has got Search app, UI got the new folders and new applications as well and maybe even the most important thanks to the partial implementation of the demand paging phone has almost 30 MB of the free RAM on fresh boot up.

Furthermore it comes with preinstalled new Ngage gaming platform and three demo games (System Rush, Asphalt and Fifa) and the Nokia music store of course.

Music store
Ngage application

Anyway, please join discussion at our forum section and tell us how it looks like after update.

According to Nokia:

This software version includes battery, stability & performance improvements enabling you to run faster and longer - giving you up to three more hours of music (up to 30% increase, from 9h to 12h of music playback).

This release also includes a new version of Nokia Maps which provides faster positioning, faster Map Loader, and free 3-day navigation. Free N-Gage demo games are included and other games are available via Download! With the Nokia Music Store now live in the United Kingdom, users can enjoy the convenience of instant over-the-air downloads, regardless of where they are.

After updating your device software to 20.0.015, and restoring your personal data, you can optimise the menu layout by installing the New_Menu_Structure.SIS file. Download and install this file to rearrange your menu layout specifically for SW 20.0.015. Reboot your device to see the menu changes.

Finally, I would like to give you a little bit more information about new release but sadly we are still looking for the change log, so if you know something more please let us know.
