I am not a big fan of the 3rd party headsets and I have no experience with the Plantronics headset line but there is no doubt that just introduced, innovative and handy Voyager 855 BT headset deserve attention and I just hope that sound quality is on the higher level.

Anyway, Plantronics has made an announcement that will probably shake up the Bluetooth headset market by offering something new in the form of a mono-to-stereo convertible Bluetooth headset.

Slide-to-Talk, Boom-Extended Microphone

The Plantronics Voyager 855 Bluetooth headset features a sleek slide-to-talk boom to provide convenient call control and improved audio performance. Sliding the boom open instantly connects the caller. The extending boom also houses a voice tube to position the microphone closer to the mouth for directional voice reception, ensuring maximum voice clarity and intelligibility. When the boom slides back, the call ends and/or the user's music selection conveniently resumes play.
