+ Cloning (r)evolution: Surprising good looking N93i clone!?

22 September 2007

Evolution of the China's cloning industry,
Fake N93i that looks very well

Clone of the Nokia N93iI guess you’ll agree with me that phone looks pretty solid!? The best Chinese fake so far in my personal opinion. It seems that cloning technology has advanced significantly which is pretty scary?

These advances were made possible by significant improvements in cloning techniques, in the decade since Dolly’s birth, scientists have successfully cloned over a dozen other species and thanks to the very talented Chinese cloning scientists Nokia is the last one :)))))

Now seriously, there is no doubt that they managed to copy the designs and formfactor of this famous manufacturer very well, but they still fails to copy company's high-end technology. Another question is it made with inferior or exactly the same materials and how good or bad is the build quality.

To sum up, although Chinese products looks better and better with every release they are still designed to be sold on the black market with typical working time from midnight to morning.

Cloners are ready to fill any gaps and they are look for opportunities and major manufacturers often give it to them in the form of a hot overpriced flagship product that are offered for the limited number of markets at very high prices.

I just hope that in the future they’ll not only aspire to copy the designs of a western manufacturer on the cheap way. I believe that ear of reverse engineering is behind them and that soon or later we can expect that they will offer clone with capabilities beyond the original.

So, juts be careful if you are going to buy N93i ;)
