New Express Symbian Signing Process!

Symbian SignedI’ve already wrote about how terrible situation with Symbian signed is at the moment and that process is more or less dead at least for developers of freeware solutions and considering that most end users overwhelmingly prefer good freeware applications and solutions developed by talented young developers that was the extremely bad and disappointing news.

Now I am happy to say that finally I have something good to say about SymbianSigned, it seems that they listens the voice of the developers and whole Symbian community.

I got a hint about improvements in signing process and that Symbian has just announced a new project to improve the current Symbian Signed process, which is usually very painful for developers.

They say that signing will cost aroung $20 per application with new Express Signing Process that also requires publisher ID from TC Trustcenter.

Finally, I know this is not directly related to end users and maybe you are confused why I am blogging about? Well, you see, I just hope that with this new much cheaper and faster process will encourage more developers to sign their applications more frequently which basically means that we can expect more and more freeware solution in future which is really important fact for the end user in my personal opinion.

Symbian Signed

Oh yes, one more thing, the self signing process is back and SymbianSigned now allows registration of the new accounts although it refuse to accept some e mail accounts which is pretty weird issue, hope it will be fixed soon.
