LG Launches the KS10 in Italy

The LG-KS10, also known as JoY is a S60 smartphone with a slider form factor that was announced in London last year at the Symbian Smartphone Show and now it is available in Italy and will be available in other European and Asian markets by end of this year.

JoY is an attractive slider smartphone based on Symbian OS v9 and S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1. With a 2,4" LCD screen, HSDPA radio and full xHTML browser, JoY makes it fast and easy for fun seekers to browse the Internet and download content and applications.

The marriage of LG Electronics and Symbian OS is an ideal fit and JoY as an ideal offspring as it combines advanced electronic computer capabilities with an attractive form factor and high performance. With consumer market trends leaning towards convergence and network operators looking to bring smartphones to market even quicker, Symbian is working closely with LG Electronics to fuel this fast growing segment of the market.

JoY combines the stunning appearance of LG Electronics' latest handsets with Symbian's intelligent and robust operating system, compatible with thousands of commercially available applications, making it a smartphone that appeals to a wide audience. We welcome LG Electronics' Symbian smartphone and look forward to more products from them in the future.

It packs a 2.4 inch color screen, 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth for connectivity and a media player with support for the usual files that the user can store either on the phones internal memory or on a MicroSD memory card. The LG KS10 will become available in Italy before this month is over, and start shipping in other parts of Europe as well as Asia by the end of the year, although a specific date was not announced.
