Send Free Text Messages from Your Desk

CallWave , the same company that brought us the industry's first Visual Voicemail Widget, allowing users to access their cell phone voicemail from the convenience of their PC or Mac is bringing us another interesting tool.

Today, CallWave introduced a widget (gadget) for your Google Desktop that lets you easily send SMS messages from the convenience of your computer. The service is completely free for you to send text messages to your friends worldwide and there is no limit for messages sent in the USA and Canada. Currently, you can send up to 5 messages per day to other countries using their free SMS Beta service. Also they're working on a premium service that allows more messages to be sent.

When someone reply to these messages, you can choose to either receive them on your cell phone the regular way or have them forwarded to your email address. Anyway if you don't want to receive text messages, simply enter your mobile phone number in their Do Not Text form and they will no longer allow customers to send text messages to your mobile phone.
