Groovy Freeware DIY themes application
for Series 60 phones 3rd Ed!
My dearest friends I’m happy to say that I’ve just find another thing that we are waiting for the years and years, since the first proto models of the 7650 or at least since the Nokia 6600, first phone with theme support! OK, now I’m sure that you're curious about so keep on reading ;o)
Theme DIY is the FREEWARE 3rd party tool that enables the creation of theme to customize the appearance of the user interface straight on our lovely phones. Yeah, its not a mistake, you don’t need to read it once again, it truly allows simple theme creating and use them immediately and directly on your phone. For example all you have to do is to point camera to your girlfriend take a shot, open application, choose template, choose taken image as the theme background and surprise she in less than 2-3 minutes, pretty good isn’t it?!
Of course, this small (actually not so small) utility isn’t as powerful as the PC version (Carbide.ui S60 Theme Edition 3.1), because it just offers few templates (yes Darla, there is a PINK template for you ) and customization of the few basic parts of the user interface like the wallpaper (idle background), music player background and color of the battery bar, signal bar and letters after all, also it allows you to rotate image (sadly it doesn’t support cropping in these version and therefore its suggestible to cut image to the right side before via the Resco viewer for example) and add two simple effects like blur or fade out to the menu background which is great feature by the way.
Anyway, I just have to say that this application is just must have and it seams that one of my dreams comes true, if nothing else this application allows you to quickly setup full screen wallpaper in few minutes from any image located on your phone and it is simply great because it was shame that we weren’t able to do it this before on our so called smartphones.
So if your PC isn’t powerful enough to run Carbide.ui or if it looks to complicated for you if you aren’t familiar with graphic all this graphic thing and stuff like bmp, svg, vector, raster, Corel, Illustrator, PhotoShop sounds strange for you or if you need to setup full screen wallpaper in few single steps just get it, you’ll not be sorry.
Sincerely yours,
Teo
