I got my N900 2 days ago, and i must say it's amazing. The vide playing capability is like something i have never seen on a mobile device of this size.
It is smaller than i imagine it would be.
The problem is there are currently very few apps. Here's what i need, maybe some of you guys know where i can find such things. And i also have some questions.
1)Is there a way to add more account types, like for instance yahoo, when i update my information. I made an ovi account, and when i have internet connection available it shows as available.
Is there some instant messaging on ovi like there is on yahoo messenger?
2)I need yahoo messenger of some sort. On my Pc i use trilian for instant messaging. Trillian has the possibility to add account from different instant messaging services. Something like that i would need very much on the n900.
3)Editin capability for office 2007 documents, but i think there is no such thing, for now.
4)Some sort of stop watch, there was some programs like that for s60, i can't remember it's name, it had world clock, stop watch, alarms, etc.
5)A better file manager.
q)In the e90 music player, when i pressed a key, the player jumped to the corresponding trak, a quick search if you like. Is there something similar with the built in music player ?
If i rememeber more, ill be sure to post it.
PS: My phone is "made in korea"

for the music player just slide out the keys and type the first 3 or 4 letters of the song or artist and it'll pop up. As for the apps, give it time. the phone has only been out for just over a week, maybe submit some requests to the devs of certain apps

I have managed to instant message to my girl friend using the built in instant message application, build into conversation, after i have made a skype account. It works very well and the interface is so sweet. We just need a plugin or something, to allow us to connect to the yahoo servers instead of the skype servers.
I have also tried the skype to skype call. My girl friend on the laptop, me on the phone, and it works like a normal call, only it on the internet. The integration is so smooth, its umbelieveble.

Currently in testing on maemo.org are two plugins for instant messaging. There is a plugin called Haze, which does Windows Live/MSN, yahoo, ICQ and a few others and a plugin called Butterfly which only does Windows Live/MSN.
They are currently in testing and will hopefully be released to the Maemo's Extras repository soon, so we can download using the Application Manager.
They offer full integration into the Conversations program like the Skype and GTalk plugin already on the N900.
Its possible to visit maemo.org and read up on how to enable it to test but this can cause issues with your phone (possibly brick it) so it might be best to wait a while until all the bugs are ironed out.
