Hi Guys,

I got my N900 finally and I got lot of problems as well and I’m just curious if it is common issue or it is just bad luck :(

You see, in the last 12 hours I experienced at least 50 random restarts which finally resulted with a brick issue which I managed to successfully fix with Maemo flasher and the latest firmware version but unfortunately the problem with frequent restarts still remains?! No matter what I do I can expect a restart from time to time and to make it even more weird I didn’t find enough time to tweak this device jet, I just did contact sync and install couple of widgets, add some music and that’s it :hm:

No it doesn’t sounds good at all, brick issue after just couple of hours of not so hard use is not encouraging at all :hm I just hope that phone is delayed to further improve the software because average user will get scared to death after the sudden brick issue. Fortunately I’m skilled enough to get maemo flasher , put phone in flashing mode and finally flash it from the command prompt, all in all 10-15 minutes including time for downloading software and firmware.

After all it is not all that bad, if nothing else we just got a Meamo flahing expert on the forum so in case of troubles feel free to ask anything, I’ll be galde to help ;)

ive read of a good few of this problem with other people round the net.
this is why im not even thinkin bout the n900 till at least 3 months in, when hardware and software issues have been raised, n97 has turned me off early adopting for life.

I also read some topics about random restarts at maemo.org, seems some devices are ok some are not.

Setter,
btw I got a mail from Nokia saying that those who (like me) pre-ordered from Nokia Online shop will get the device with version 1.0 in about two weeks (week #50).

Strangely I don't feel scared about random restarts :P I mean if I get a device that reboots several times an hour I will get my money back right? :contr:
