excellent news, all now i have to do is wait for it to land on tmobile usa to get it at a subsidized price because im not paying again for full price device especially from nokia and repeat the n97 story ;)

->Andrew<-, be thankful for that, it's always a bad idea to run headfirst into another money pit, even if it's actually a sexy Linux computer pit :wink: In a week or a bit more I'm sure the N900 will hit the retail stores in UK!

hy guys, since n900 is shipping that means it will be available soon. so i found about one site called http://maemo.org so there is also Maemo 5, so everything that is under maemo 5 i can download and install on n900?

Yeah it seems so, many apps are still in alpha stages though, but whenever I press the arrow to get those files with an extension *.install, I get a 1kb file, so not sure how the download really works there, maybe only from the device itself?

Hmm I think the .install contains some link to some repository or something. linux way I think

this is how a .install file looks like:

This seems to mean unfortunately that the main way of downloading apps is through the phone connection. if so thats bad, I dont have a wlan available :|
