Imagination and Samsung Demoed Advanced Graphics On Omnia HD Smartphone

Samsung?s new Omnia HD is the first S60 touch device built on a Texas Instruments OMAP3 chip which giving it at least 3 times better graphic performance over the conventional ARM11 processors that Nokia uses in their touch devices, Nokia 5800 XM as well as Nokia N97.

It is mainly due the great PowerVR SGX 2D/3D GPU from Imagination Technology incorporated into even greater Texas Instrument?s (or 3440) together with the fully programmable VGP vertex processor core, FPU (floating point unit) and Superscalar 600 MHz (800 MHz) ARM Cortex-A8 RISC core!

Thanks to powervr spilling the beans. Now if they could built a slider qwerty version, I'm there.

this doesn't help us if there are no good games.

does anybody remember this graphics demo for the N95?

that was over 1 year ago and back then everybody was amazed and sure that some great games were just around the corner. but nothing happened. don't be too optimistic.
