Nokia touch screen phone by year end
Setting at rest speculations, cell phone major Nokia has confirmed it will launch a full touch screen handset by the end of this year.
"We have been working on the S60 platform for touch screen user interface and a mobile device is expected to be launched by the year-end," Devinder Kishore, Nokia India's marketing director, told reporters.
The Nokia full touch screen phone, initially leaked as Nokia 'Tube' was also featured in the latest Batman movie "The Dark Knight" and will be Nokia's second full touch screen smartphone, the first of which was launched in 2003 (Nokia 7710 powered by the Symbian OS and S90 platform) but was later discontinued.
The past year has seen cell phone majors such as Samsung and LG debuting their full touch screen mobile phones in the market after the success of the Apple iP... .. .

Just when I'd decided to get the Samsung Omnia this happens! ;] I really need a better screen, no two ways about it, was about to buy a WM phone to make it happen, but maybe I can wait a little longer...

that's the question we're all asking .. i really like the idea which teo fired on another topic, with slider qwerty keypad, like a N810 ..dscobsct wrote:whenever that will be.

That will be killer combination, not to motion the recently filled Nokia's patent about triple slider phone! The best thing in whole story is that S60 5th edition is fully capable to process all possible input methods, hand-writing recognition, finger, stylus, classic keypads and QWERTY keyboards.
