Interesting Nokia Slider Concept?!?

Image

Pretty busy days for folks over the Nokia research labs, we wrote that Nokia has been experimenting with plastic casings coated with a diamond-like material made from coal and Nokia attempt to patent this technology.

Also we've had some forum discussions related to slider Nokia phone with QWERTY keyboard and large screen but it was obviously just a nice Photoshop work with some really bizarre solution and or even terrifying ideas in my personal opinion.

As usually, patenting generally makes the details of new technology publicly available and accordin... .

Hmm i find that new sliding form factor interesting, although, so many moving parts worries me,

especially the rotating numeric keypad which expands off of the keyboard.

wonder how they can do that while keeping a solid design.

Eager to see this implemented into their phones and see what it will look like.

Don?t worry about so much, N90 has even more moving parts and there is no problem with that phone, actually its one of the strongest Nokia phones ever.. . .

Yeah, same here, as soon as possible.. . .

The rotating moving part could be skipped simply by making double buttons, same as N92 !
Also, i think the phone is kind of long, don't u think ?

I think a slider with qwerty under the slide and number buttons with slide closed, is better solution, because as u sid, to much moving parts !

Also this design leaves room for a big 3.2" Vga screen!
Now that's a screen !
Maybe this design would be good for an E80, number 80 being a slider, and E becasue of the qwerty !

Agreed. Mechanical parts are troublesome. However the tech today is quite limited. We are living in a period of time when things are changing from unreliable mechanical things to more reliable electronics. Mechanics however will always play a role in the technology of today. We're not obliged enough to not worry about mechanical issues. The generations after us will however change things. Like always technology we have now will become obsolete. You always have to be up-to-date with the newest tech.

When a person gets older, it's more difficult to learn new things. It takes time, and technology waits for no one.

There is no doubt my friend, electronic goes fast but it can?t replace mechanic, mechanic is still important and necessary and it will always be.. . .

Yes but if you are constantly in and if you are techno freak that like technology there is no problems no matter how old you are IMO.. ..

@Bytales,
Your concept is really nice but I just don?t like such a small QWERTY solutions :hm:
