I'll stick to Tomtom Nav 6 for now, although being able to use the internal gps for tracking would be handy on occasion

I'll sit on the sidelines and be spectator, and see how this plays out(if it actually works).
Those of us whom forget and/or ignore history are doomed to repeat it.

I guess this part means that many people can forget about getting free navigation with Nokia Maps:
Note: you can set the time bomb only once, so this trick only works if you didn't activate your trial before.

You don't need to do like that...
Just delete old diskcache and extract from downloaded maps .zip file
You can put all world but it's about 5gb...

Darijan, I don't know why everyone is suspicious about your honesty in making this work.
I'll give it a try later this week. This only works for the original Maps, but not Maps 2.0? And when reinstalling or formatting, will I need to redo this too?
The site for the maps is Nokia's? Can you download and post these maps somewhere just in case they're removed? I might not get to an XP PC anytime soon.

I went through this whole process with maps of Europe, but it did not work. I followed the instructions to the letter.
When you did this, had you already used the trial period or bought navigation before?
Now when I try to use navigation, I still get the standard payment menu options up every time.
