What do you mean?
Is it that you want to connect your computer to your phone through the internet or WLAN?
Are you using a Nokia N900 for this?
In my opinion bluetooth and USB are the easiest ways.
Especially USB, as N900 has a longer cable then present for Nokia 5800 (Its short.. so i have an extender.)

Yes, I guess it got left out on the firs post. GUI for networking, instead a command line connection using SSH, through WLAN, would make my life a lot easier.
It would be nice if we could automatically sync the device as soon as it connects to home wireless (or work), transfer music and pics etc. Just basically being one of the "workgroup" computers on network, since it is a mini computer.
Otherwise I'm perfectly happpy with it.

Workgroup is something made by Microsoft.
Not really something Linux ever has taken advantage of by default.
There might be some application.
Do you mean that you want to connect to your computer automaticly when you are at the same network?
Its a little bit of the concept in an app called SymSync. (But its a S60 app)
Also, there would be possibility to have an application do the process in the command line for you.
In Ubuntu, you can make shortcuts to a command, similar to that Windows have .bat files to execute through a command line, but aimed at its parent folder.
Have you asked over at Maemo.org? (Thats the main Maemo site)
Thats where you find some guys that maybe already have made such an app, or will make it for you.

Yes, that's basically the idea, I like Symsmb and the new SymNC, but, in linux, as I understand it, the problem lies in mapping the hd and libraries. I was at maemo.org trying to find a solution but seems like everybody else is at same point as I am.
Anyway, seems like atleast the startup screen and splash are easy to change in N900.
