Nokia N900: Smartphone, Palmtop, Or Something Else?

Image

Since the Nokia N900 has been announced, there have been a plethora of online reviews and articles about competing devices. I hear about devices such as the Nokia N97, Apple iPhone, Blackberry Storm2, HTC Touch Pro2, Palm Pre, and upcoming Verizon Droid/Motorola Sholes devices.
This wasn't unexpected at all.As far as pocketable devices are concerned, on the surface, these seem to be the closest devices we could possibly compare to the N900.

Sorry, but my ISP is having issues, and my connection has been spotty, so I only have 5-10 minutes to make posts before its down again. I'm so upset with at&t, which won't come for a repair until MONDAY!!

If possible, someone please add pictures of the Application Manager and the Synaptic Package Manager in Linux Mint, the Expose feature of Linux Mint and a panoramic desktop of Maemo, and the Linux Mint X-Terminal and Maemo's terminal. Adding these visuals will really open the eyes of many people who don't get that the N900 is no typical smartphone, and no comparison to the HTC Hero, iPhone, and TP2.

If its about the camera, go with the N86. If its about the features, N900 all day. Camera's a tad better anyway, and video is class leading.

I think this should be called the Freedom Phone, and any carrier jumping on that branding is a winner.
