[Python]Is it possible to check if specific app is running?

SO I have little question, is there a way in Python to check if specific app is running or not, let's say app.exe. It would be really nice to have small code example or whatever if it's possible.

Yeah apptools got what I need, just one more simple question...
appuif.app.orientation='landscape' makes script go landscape in script shell but everything else is portrait.
Will it make menu landscape too if script is compiled? I mean when script is compiled script shell won't show up unless I make it to somehow, but something has to be landscape mode.

I know it hasn't. I want to make all other stuff landscape which is possible. Hidding app didn't work, it's landscape only when app is visible. :/

I want to make it go landscape when gallery app is open, not autorotate or all the time.

sounds impossible with standart modules...

Yeah, but I believe it wouldn't be hard for C++ dev to create extension.
