Never Get Lost In The Dark Again!

How many times have you tried to use your phone as a torch and than realized that the weak screen illumination really isn’t that great in total darkness not to mention that you need to frequently press buttons to keep the light on!?

Sure, there is an alternative, ability to use the camera led flash as a torch is one of the most commonly used secondary features of the modern camera phones although it is not well-implemented on most of the S60 phones.

Actually, I’ve already expressed my thoughts about the missing torch feature and appeal on Nokia to add more functionality to the side keys in idle mode just like on the good old Nokia N93, but unfortunately, Nokia didn’t take our comments, complaints and suggestions seriously and most of the latest S60 devices will simply leave you in the dark without ability to activate the led flash and to use it as torch light.

Fortunately, there is a solution for 5th edition devices and from now on, you’ll be able to use your phone as a torch. PhoneTorch is a freeware light-weight application that that enables you to turn your Nokia 5800 into the one of the most expensive torch light you carry around in your pocket.

PhoneTorch is a tool for Symbian OS 9.4 5th Edition (e.g. Nokia 5800XM) phones which allows to use the phone's build in flash as a torch and that's basically all it does, but it does it well!

With PhoneTorch you can activate the led flash and to use it as torch light to find your way in a dark hallway our discreetly read the newspaper in the train at night or when you are trying to locate port on the back of your computer.

It supports both, white and the led flash and the only thing I miss is the better finger friendly GUI, application can be eaisly controled with few big on screen off/on buttons, White, Red, ON, OFF, Settings, Exit.
