Palringo is the ultimate Instant Messaging client for Symbian S60 Smartphones that allows you to instantly exchange text messages, photos, and vocal IMs with group of users or individuals.
In the latest Symbian version the user interface has been simplified and especially optimized for the 5th edition of S60 platform, application is now more responsive to user input and brings tactile feedback support.
Version 1.1.0 also supports new account registration so there is no need to do it via the website. All you need to start using the service is your phone.
Furthermore, staff members are now clearly marked to make it easier for users to distinguish Palringo staff from other users. In addition they’ve also added support for more languages and fixed various bugs which were reported by you.
Please note that due to a bug in the auto update code, S60 5th edition device users will need to download and install the application. This does not affect S60 3rd edition users.
Palringo works by integrating with several existing, popular messaging services: AOL’s AIM, Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger, Gadu Gadu, ICQ, Jabber and Windows Live Messenger into a single application.
Palringo presents your IM contacts in a single, combined, presence-aware list, whichever IM service your contacts are using. This eliminates any need to switch between different IM applications in order to send a message to different contacts. Sending a voice, picture or a text-based message are all single-click operations.
Sending the same message to several people usually takes time and costs money but not with Plaringo. It allows you to set up a group of people in your street or across the world, or both and then you can simply send one message, to all of them.
Palringo also has added local feature to Symbian client and enables the user to choose to display their location to their Palringo contacts - location can either be set manually, or can be set to change dynamically. Palringo also calculates and displays the distance between the user and each contact – useful for deciding whether or not you are likely to be able to meet in person.
Location is calculated by a proprietary algorithm which uses a variety of data sources to fix location, It’s the perfect solution for messenger freaks. Instead of searching through each application for your contacts to natter with, just grab them all from one source.

The exact cost of use depends on your data package - but just 1MB of data is good for up to 15 minutes of voice messages, 32 pictures or 100,000 words of text!
