Inclinometer for Nokia 5800
Greatly Improves The Off-road Safety
Dr Jukka is very active lately and he continues supplying S60 users with regular updates of his software and optimizing applications for the touch user interface.
After the Theme Scheduler, Profile Scheduler and Fake messages, his Inclinometer application has been updated with support as well and now supports the 5th edition device and is finger friendly.
New application version is based on the New Sensor Framework API introduced with 5th edition of S60 platform but is also backported to S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 2 devices like Nokia N96, Nokia N85, Nokia N79, 6210 Navigator, as well as to Nokia E66 which is based on the Feature Pack 1.
It basically means that application should works just fine with the mentioned phones but as it is only tested on the 5800 I’ll not add it to the 3rd ed download section until someone confirm that it works on the FP2 devices.
Anyway, Inclinometer I the very simple application that shows your vehicle angles while off-roading. Although it lacks the warning system it still can greatly improve a driver's ability to detect dangerous roll over situations before the car damage or injury can happen!
In urban conditions warning alarm is indeed useless feature but in off-road conditions where the surroundings can easily create optical illusions, some kind of warning system when the inclination of the vehicle exceeds a predefinided safe level is a must have featuer. I just hope Jukka will find some time to add the alarm function as it is really important for this kind of application and the off-road safety!
To keep the backlight on, select "Light on" from options menu, as well as there is a reset option, which with you can reset the angle values to zero level
Inclinometer is an unsigned application and after downloading file it is necessary to sign it through the Symbian signed. or any other available method!
