Map Folder or Directory to

Have you worked with folders that are hidden deeper inside the system and found it really troublesome to access it?

Yeah I know; there is pretty simple solution for this problem but unfortunately on S60 devices it is impossible to create a handy shortcut to specific folder or move it to the desktop or at any other convenient location.

NeoReboot From My Great

My good buddy Sittiphol has come up with yet another uselfull application for use on symbian s60 3rd edition devices. He sent me and my friend bery95 the testing version one week ago, and today he has officially released his latest project, NeoReboot.

Y-Browser Gets an update

Although it is not as famous and popular as once was it is still one of the best file managers for the 3rd edition phone and I thought that I should inform you that Jukka has update and that the latest update brings lot of improvements in terms of features and stability.

To be honest I have removed it completely and at the moment I am using the great and powerful x-plore as the main file manager and also using the Active file some specific task. However after the latest Jukka’s update maybe I should give it another chance although I doubt that it can compete with the great LonelyCatGames’s product.

In my personal opinion x-plore is simply the best file browser for the S60 3rd edition, it is the fully functional shareware application and you should give it a try. It ind... ..

CPU Monitor for S60 3rd Ed by OPDA

CPU Monitor is the very simple system application that transparently, nicely and simply displays and summarizes your CPU & Memory activity.

Nothing more to say about really, it has the very simple interface that shows the current processor activity and draw the graph for the CPU and memory as well.

To be completely honest this is not for me as I am looking for application that will allows me to exclude some unnecessary processes from the start-up list to free-up some more RAM on my N95. EQ Restart for 3rd Ed
Freeware System Utility

Another cool application from the Russian developers (EQ Soft) that have developed handy EQ Alt Tab application for 3rd edition phones.

EQ Restart is a small system utility, extremely simple application that has similar functionality as the pyRestart but this one doesn’t require the Python to be installed. EQ Restart quickly reboots your phone actually triggers the hidden reboot API and force system to reboot.

You should keep in mind that it lacks UI completely and restart phone immediately after launching with no extra questions, so be careful ;) We all know that Symbian is open to new features and with all this cool new features that we are getting lately thanks to the 3rd party developers our lovely phones becomes slug... .. .

Just found this great application over at forum section which SF member MORF have found. This application is just fantastic, offering very simeler style of options as the very well known and very popular Handy Taskman from EpocWare.

This Jbak Taskman offer many more features than the Handy Taskman, and also comes with a great User Interface.

Let’s Go Back To Good Ol' Days!

Oh no, another nostalgic article about text based application from the late ‘80s and early ‘90s! Yeah I know, it is pretty pointless to write about such a soft while we are waiting the 5th generation of the series 60 platform that will bring further improvements in the graphical user interface but I am so nostalgic and I couldn’t resist.

Don’t ask me why 'coze I don’t now, maybe because of the rainy morning but I somehow fall into influence of this wave of nostalgia that spreading around lately. I am so nostalgic about the golden age of computing the early '90s before the Microsoft came and bought our souls.

I have such a strange Nostalgic feeling about the good oldie MS DOS at the moment and somebody should give me a hug, as soon as possible pleaseee... .. .

Alt <=> Tab is the common name for a keyboard shortcut on Microsoft Windows 3.1 onwards used for switching between top-level windows without using the mouse.

Since its introduction in Windows, the Alt-Tab keyboard combination has also been incorporated to other widely used operating systems, such as Mac OS X and free software desktop environments such as KDE and GNOME and finally Symbian, yeah you read it right, I’ve just found a small little Russian utility that brings similar functionality to S60 3rd edition device.

In fact, it’s not the alt-tab, it is the Pencil + C but it closely clone the Windows alt + tab feature and brings a completely new dimension to S60 multitaski... .. ..

Too good to be true!
Mobile Signer for S60 3rd edition!

I found it few hours ago over at forum section and the first thing that I got on my mind was "This is toooo good to be true", but apparently it is true believe me or not :)

Quite small and simple piece of soft but still extremely useful for freaks like us, there is no need for computer assistance to sign a application or game any more, you can get it and sign it straight on the phone with just a few clicks even faster than on PC.

Actually all you need is this small utility and of course the key and certificate file. If you still don’t have it there is a very precise instruction at forum section. So if you one of those users that overwhelmingly prefer good freeware appli... .. .

Futuremark Debuts SPMark™
for Symbian OS v9

What really, truly interests me is the performance of our lovely phones, it seems that results don’t necessarily completely correspond to the specification that we getting from Nokia?

I was surprised to see that Nokia N93 is noticeable faster than Nokia N95 although both phones are based on the same, great OMAP 2420 chipset and PowerVR GPU.
