Freeware Speed Camera Warning System

The speed cameras can be tricky and very annoying. They don't prevent infractions and sometimes are misleading and you end up being charged hundreds for driving only a couple of miles over the limit.

A new survey of motorists across Britain has revealed that over 90% of drivers worry about being caught by a speed camera, especially when driving on unfamiliar roads and that more than 81% are confused because speed limits are not effectively signed.

The RoadPilot.com survey also highlighted that 84% of drivers do not always notice speed camera warning signs. If caught on camera, 14.4% say their ‘biggest concern’ would be the cost of the penalty fine, but a larger number (24.7%) now rate the fear of incre... ..

Magic Level for 3rd ed
New accelerometer based level tool!

Magic Level is the accelerometer based application for S60 devices that provides similar functionality as the Damian's pyPoziomica and also requires Python for S60 for proper work.

It is not a serious replacement for the professional level tool but considering that it is even capable to show the right angle and has three different modes it can be really helpful in some specific situations.

Fun motion controlled table soccer game!

Of all the un-important things in the World, Football is probably the most important.

Austria maybe isn't a football nation but is currently one of the host countries of the Euro 2008, the UEFA European Football Championship. Naturally, soccer is one of the biggest topics in Austria nowadays, even though their chances of winning the tournament are, well, not so high.

Tricky Mirrors
Strategy at the speed of light

Once upon a time, there was an Amstrad CPC game called Reflector, wherein the player had to arrange mirrors on a grid so as to make a laser reflect from source to target within the time limit.

A new game called "Tricky Mirrors" uses the same idea and combines lasers with classic strategy for an experience enjoyed by players of all ages.

It’s also interesting that same as Creepy Invaders game is completely developed on a mobile phone, Nokia E60 to be precise, using the PyS60 interpreter and an onboard python editor to edit the source code. The game is influenced by the games Oxyd and Mir... .. .

My favorite Programming Language gets an update brings bunch of improvements and and it is highly suggestible to get the latest version and update application and shell as well.

Can't find it in the change log but I still hope that just released version fixes the very well known problems with an Accelerometer based application developed in Python and the Nokia N95-3 (US) which desperately need an update by the way.

Beeper for S60 3rd Ed
Multifunctional Freeware Utility!

What does it do? It is really hard to say what the Beeper is because it is the multifunctional application with lot of handy and highly customizable features.

The application itself is similar to Timebar but it has more useful features and completely configurable window which allow you to select where and which information you want to display. Application of course stays resident in memory and continues to update the display in real time.

However, what is most interesting about this application is that everything is under control, bar is completely customizable, fonts, colors, items, everything. PyWidgets for S60
Display system info on the standby screen!

You may have noticed some increased activity over at our forum section lately with a lot of open minded and interesting discussions and what is even more important we got lot of people interested in developing and they are also very active and productive nowadays.

Bongoman just released PyWidgets, Wook is working on the Renamer application for the 3rd edition phones and finally I am testing the latest Damian's (he is brain behind the pySnake, pyPiwo, pyRybka, pyMoneta, pyPoziomica, WakeUpMe, pyEkran, pyGenerator, pyGadacz, pyRestart, Lottomat and lovely PC application Signomat) product developed in Pythoin as usually, great piece of soft that is in the final stage of the development and will be released in next few days.

Audioscrobbler (Last.fm) PyS60 Player

I am Not that much into music and I am not an expert really, but it just appeared in my feed reader and I thought it can be interesting for some of you.

Thanks to the Douglas Fernando da Silva, from the Random Thoughts About Nothing (Usually) So Simple blog, S60 users gets their first taste of Last.fm functionality.

Douglas has released an early beta version of his open source application developed in Python that allows users to scrobble tracks to Last.fm as they play on an S60 device. Speaker
What you want your phone to say??

Speaker is another cool application that came from my friend Manu, developer of the very popular ShakeLock application. Same as ShakeLock, Speaker is developed in the Python that is undoubtedly the tool No1 for the freeware developers lately.

Python folder on my phone is full of the useful freeware applications and I should create few subfolders to sort and organize all application that I have in there.

Actually I seriously thinking about updating our download section that is pretty outdated nowadays, my HDD is full of freeware applications that I would like to share with you. Just hope that I’ll get some spare time soon and setup the brand new down... ..

Mp3 Editor for S60 3rd Edition Phones

Well it is not a fully feathered sound editor but it still allows you to edit mp3 songs right on your phone. Actually Mp3 Editor for S60 devices provide the very basic functionality and only allows cutting and joining the mp3 tracks.

I am pretty sure that your phone is full of cool songs that you would like to use as the ring tones but you can’t because of the boring and long intro or not the very attractive beginning. In a matter of fact in most situations you would like to use just a refrain but you are just too lazy do it on PC or you don’t have necessary tools.

ShakeLock Beta
The first public version is available for download!

I am honored to announce that ShakeLock is out of closed period of beta testing and officially available for free download and public testing.

For those who don’t know, ShakeLock is Python application that uses the Accelerometer Plug-in package to hook into the accelerometer and to detect movement and change the lock state according to movement direction.

Mobile Personal Assistant v1.00

Day by day, in the every way, Python is getting better and better and it is quickly becoming one of the most popular environments for the independent developers.

We got lot of very useful Python based application lately and here is the another one.

Mobile Personal Assistant is the very handy application, especially considering it is the very first application developed by my very good friend Leo Jab (alias BIM).

TTSMS Reader
Freeware SMS Reader for 3rd Ed!

As a courtesy, for the benefit of those who haven't visited and read our forum section frequently, permit me to briefly introduce a simply freeware application developed in Python.

Our mighty Vinu has completed and published his first application for the S60 platform with the name ListSMS.

ListSMS, is the first application which Vineeth has ever developed, and with the help from another great Python programmer called Damian, has developed quite the useful utility, and therefore, I am pretty much surprised with the final result.

My friend Damian is extremely productive lately, lot of the very cool accelerometer based applications. Applications like pyMoneta, pyPiwo, pyPoziomica, and it is really hard to say which one I like the most.

Incredible level of activity and effectiveness, and if he continues with releasing one application per week he will need a new keyboard soon for sure.

Anyway, pyRybka (I just like these cool Polish names) is the latest one and for those that aren't familiar with Poland language maybe is better to call it pyAquarium or pyFish to be precise. EasyEdit is an intuitive, friendly and very simple text editor for S60 phones developed in Python with a lot of useful features.

Sure every S60 phone is equipped with text editor but EasyEdit is quite better solution than the build in Notes application because it allows you to edit most of the existing text based files directly on your mobile phone.

Don’t get it to seriously, we are not going to terrorize anybody :-] this is just an article about having some fun with your friends.

So if you are one of those that like to make fun of your friends & colleagues and you are looking for the best way to prank your friends, to theorize them actually or just have some common fun tonight I have a fun little trick, Pythons script to be precise.

pyBattery v1.3
freeware battery manager for S60 3rd ed devices

pyBattery is the small freeware Python based application, battery manager actually that provides an opportunity to constantly monitor the state of the battery, to monitor charging and lifting charger of the phone and provides the customizable audio signal at full charge.

Application works in three different modes, Charging mode, AntiVor and the Info mode and it is the pretty useful application in combination with the Nokia Energy Profiler. Time-lapse Photography Using a Nokia N80

As I took my daily tour over the numerous blogs, sites and forums that I read regularly I found something really catching my eye and which redirected me to the Foozia Blog.

Taking the photos is all good and well, but taking a sequence of photographs and than creating cool animation of them can be really interesting.
