New GPS based mobile phone tracking software called BuddyWay is now available for free on most of the Symbian S60 3rd edition devices.

Tagggit Is Out Of Restricted Beta
Membership Is Now Open To Everyone

A couple of weeks back I written about Tagggit, an interesting geotagging application in the private beta testing phase but now it has come out of restricted beta testing and membership is now open to the general public!

A lot of improvements have been made. Most notably is the integration of a wireless positioning system, which makes our application even more accurate and much faster.

Freeware Speed Camera Warning System

The speed cameras can be tricky and very annoying. They don't prevent infractions and sometimes are misleading and you end up being charged hundreds for driving only a couple of miles over the limit.

A new survey of motorists across Britain has revealed that over 90% of drivers worry about being caught by a speed camera, especially when driving on unfamiliar roads and that more than 81% are confused because speed limits are not effectively signed.

The RoadPilot.com survey also highlighted that 84% of drivers do not always notice speed camera warning signs. If caught on camera, 14.4% say their ‘biggest concern’ would be the cost of the penalty fine, but a larger number (24.7%) now rate the fear of incre... ..

Nokia unveils Maps 2.0 - Connected,
Mobile navigation for Walk & Drive has arrived

Today at the Mobile World Congress Nokia announced that the Beta version of Nokia Maps 2.0 is ready for you to take out for a spin.

Nokia Maps is taking its mapping and navigation experiences to the next level by enhancing its pedestrian navigation, adding multimedia city guides, offering satellite images, and sporting a redesigned user interface.

Nokia Location Tagger beta launched
New Application From Nokia Beta Labs

As I have already said numerous times they are very productive lately, simply incredible activity over at Nokia Beta Labs, lot of cool applications and they’ve just released another one.

Nokia Location Tagger is a small application running on “selected” S60 3rd devices that allows you to tag pictures captured from Camera application with geographical coordinates from GPS. The tagging process itself is sometimes called geotagging or geocoding.

It seems that Nokia is trying really hard, to become some kind of an internet company and as the part of that strategy and few months ago released OVI service Nokia has released the online service as the update, actually integration with the Sports Tracker application announced back in March this year.
