TimeBar by the3sky
Hey guys! I just noticed a really cool lil freeware app from the3sky. This little app called TimeBar, allows you to have a digital time display anywhere on your phone! This time display will stay through all the normal phone menus and not only on the standby display! It is also highly configurable with many useful features!
It can be configured to show itself anywhere on your display (By changing 'x' (horizontal) and 'y' (vertical) co-ordinates) and can also play a tone at the hour, every hour, as well as choose your own tones if you do not like what is provided (Although the filenames must be the same)! The volume of the tone played is also adjustable.
The font of the digital display can also be changed, as can the font color (with RGB values) and size! You can also choose Bold, Italics, or none! Another cool thing is that it has transparencies, so it looks nicely integrated into the display!
Another useful feature is that you can update settings and watch the changes as you do it by just clicking on a 'Refresh' button! It also has anti-aliasing which makes the font look very smooth! As of now I’ve tested this app only on my N80, but I’m sure it will work on all Nokia Symbian 3rd Ed phones with no problems!
Some things that I noticed that this application misses are that the digital clock shows only the 24hr clock time but maybe the next update of this app will also have 12 hour (although I don't really want it, 24hr is what I use anyway)!
Also I wish they had included some means of automatically positioning the display to some fixed locations like "Center", "Bottom" etc. along with the co-ordinates method, because making the clock show itself exactly in the center can be a little painful! Also this application is unsigned. You will have to sign it for your device by yourself.
Other than that I think that this is a killer app! Finally 3rd Ed is seeing some really nice apps to mod the phone to higher levels like 2nd Ed phones!
I have attached the file here in case you can't get it from the website. I have noticed that some people were not able to use the website (Also its in Chinese lol)
