BeatEd - a simple drum machine
Leave the dust cover on your drum set

BeatEd

Although it is not as cool and attractive as the accelerometer based NiiMe Drum application that I've reviewed yesterday, BeatEd definitely deserves to be added to our freeware section.

The very first version of the application was developed in couple of nights to get a drum machine and metronome application for author's personal guitar playing purposes but after getting a lot of new ideas and positive feedback, he decided to improve it a bit and make a decent public release.

Don't expect too much from this soft, it is not a professional drummers's virtual workshop; it is just an easy to use drum machine application for beginners that will let you create your own songs in minutes.

It has all necessary controls and also supports on-the-fly editing which allows you to change tempo and volume while playing and modify the beat as well. It also features attractive real-time VU meter, 16 different drum tracks and 16 channel audio mixer.

BeatEd is not just for drummers though, it's so intuitive that anybody can use it and you should give it a tray. Its friendly user interface makes beat generation fast, while allowing your unlimited creativity to pour through.
