Swim for S60 3rd Edition
Automatic Scheduled Synchronisation
Swim for S60 is port of the freeware UIQ3 application which allows periodic triggering of your SyncML accounts!
Swim is actually the very first S60 application developed under the Bergamot project. Project is headed by Swedish programmer Teknolog and the main aim of the project was to develop useful open-source software and identify the best ways to enhance user experience on the UIQ platform!
However, considering that Symbian operating system is going through some significant changes presently and that UIQ platform is now more or less dead, they recently decided to shift the project's focus from the UIQ user interface towards S60 platform because it will be base for the upcoming foundation OS/platform.
I have to admit that I am happy because of this decision and I truly hope that we’ll get more handy applications for the Bergamot dev team, Escarpod port at least :]
Anyway, Swim for S60 is freeware utility for automatic periodic synchronization of data with internet servers such as Google Calendar (through GooSync), Mobical, Zyb and Ovi.
It makes use of the existing SyncML support in the system, and adds timing capabilities, something both UIQ and S60 mysteriously lack natively!
You can set it to sync your data every 15 minutes, every hour, every 4 hours, every 12 hours, daily, or weekly and that’s it, simply but yet useful freeware application, just Let it do boring activities for you!
Actually version of the Swim application is 0.4 and it requires signing because author still didn’t managed to get it signed through the annoying Open Signed Online certification proces . If you have a hacked phone it shouldn’t worry about, otherwise you’ll have to go through the Open signed process to get it signed.
Please consider a small donation to help with development of the this and further projects. Donations will enable use to release signed applications, that can make use of more capabilities in Symbian enabled phones.
