+ ListSMS - Message Saver for S60 3rd edition

23 January 2008

ListSMS v1.10
Freeware Message Saver for S60 Devices

ListSMSOur mighty Vinu has completed and published his first application for the S60 platform with the name ListSMS.

ListSMS, is the first application which Vineeth has ever developed, and with the help from another great Python programmer called Damian, has developed quite the useful utility, and therefore, I am pretty much surprised with the final result.

Damien is also the man behind the cool python apps such as pyPiwo, pyRybka, pyMoneta, pyPoziomica, pyGenerator, pyEkran and so on, and so on.

Sure ListSMS is the quite simple application with a simple UI, but it does exactly what it is supposed to do, and does it very well indeed. In short, ListSMS is the message archiver, that allows you to easily and conveniently convert and export all of your messages in a single text file and send them to your PC.

ListSMS Application is also capable to read additional information, like contact name, received time and extract it altogether with the message creating a very nice and neat txt file with all listed messages.

It also features the simple file manager so you’ll be able to choose destination and the file name as well and simply sending it to the PC after extracting. I’ve just tested it on my huge mailbox, and I can say that it works just fine, although it requires some time to process more than 2000 messages.

Although very simple it is still a very useful piece of software, and if you are looking for the simple and free message exporter / backup solution, then you should give it a try, it is good enough to keep a record of your important messages for years.

I hope that future version will bring some improvements, like ability to filter and export only certain messages format, or certain folders. He needs some feedback so if you found it attractive or if you have suggestions for improvements join the discussion over at the forum section.

The application is developed in Python and of course requires the latest version for proper work.
