FB Twisted
An Addictive, Motion Controlled Puzzle Game
We're so proud to announce the release of the first Samir's game, the long awaited FB Twisted enters first stabile beta and is available for free public download and testing.
I wanted to make myself very familiar with game before release and I've been testing beta for a couple of days and it really works well! Samir has managed to tweak the Frozen Bubble's code and implement motion based controls very well.
It’s a great start and the good old Frozen Bubble going to be even more popular now, extended with accelerometer base controls it promises a dose of healthy fun for the whole family!
So, in short, FB Twisted is the 3rd product released under the Aikonlab brand, it is a remixed version of Frozen Bubble. Samir has changed its open source code to add the accelerometer set of instructions to enable motion based command and the final result is the great, addictive, accelerometer based puzzle game !
Speaking about Frozen Bubble, it is a popular free puzzle/arcade/reflex game game which is available on several operating systems including Linux, Windows, Mac OS X.
The original Frozen Bubble was written in Perl by Guillaume Cottenceau, and uses the Simple DirectMedia Layer (SDL) library. The game features 100 levels and includes a level editor.
Like many popular free software/open source games, it features penguins a la Tux, who in this game shoot the coloured frozen bubbles to form groups of the same colour.
Such groups disappear and the object is to clear the whole screen in this way before a bubble passes a line at the bottom. Whenever this is accomplished these bubbles go away. The purpose of the game is to eliminate all bubbles from stage.

About Twisted version
New functions added to Elias Konstantinidi version:
- Accelerometer : Use accelerometer sensor to play and to set settings :
"Twist" your phone left and right and press a key to launch the bubble.
- Dynamic volume and balance : Change music behaviour according to phone position.
There is 2 options :
- Volume : The more you rotate your phone, the more volume will be less.
- Balance : Stereo balance change according to phone positions (better with earphone ).
- You can set you own music by putting a file called fbtwisted.mp3 in c :\Data\Others
- Dynamic backlight intensitivity : Dynamically change backlight intensitivity according to phone position
- Vibration : The more you explosed bubbles, the more vibration duration will be high.
You have to enable vibration on your phone settings and unplug usb cable to get this option working.
To-do
This is a first beta and they must be some bugs. I tried this app on my N95 8gb. Some effects like dynamic backlight intensitivity may be not working fine on some phones.
So I need your feedbacks to fix that ;)
I made a S60 5th edition version, working also on S60 3rd FP2 (N96...). I tried on a 6210 navigator, but it’s to buggy to be released yet. I’m working on it...
Thanks
- Elias Konstantinidi for this great game port.

- Symbian-Freak Developers and Trusted Beta Testers for their help
Source Code
The source code will be online as soon as I get a high speed web connexion...
